A former online video creator is in custody in Clark County following an arrest in Henderson on Wednesday. California prosecutors had filed a criminal complaint containing multiple felony charges related to sex crimes.

The 35-year-old suspect was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Wednesday. According to court records, a hearing has been scheduled in Las Vegas Justice Court for Monday, Nov. 9. The suspect will remain held locally until being extradited to Kern County, California, where an arraignment hearing will subsequently take place.

The criminal complaint filed by the Kern County District Attorney's Office in Bakersfield, California, outlines four specific felony charges against the suspect. The counts include attempting to commit lewd acts upon a child, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, and distributing or showing pornography to a minor.

According to a release from California prosecutors, the charges originate from an alleged incident on April 17, 2021, involving a child under 14.

California authorities initially reviewed the incident during 2021 and 2022. Prosecutors stated that the agency faced significant challenges in pursuing a prosecution at that time. The primary obstacle during the initial review period was a lack of cooperation from the reporting parties, which stalled the case.

The investigation was officially reopened by the Kern County District Attorney's Office and the Kern County Sheriff's Office following the August release of an online documentary detailing the matter. The film included an interview where the suspect spoke about the controversies.

After reviewing the statements and evidence featured in the documentary, California prosecutors determined that the evidentiary threshold required to file formal criminal charges had been met. Local residents who have any relevant information regarding local cases are reminded that they can submit anonymous tips to help investigators.
